Well, I was trying to get back in the saddle today and work on a few quilting projects, but this little boy found a new favorite spot!

IT IS DONE!!!
Whew.
This seemed like an easy task, but hours and days of cutting, piecing, folding, measuring, ironing and sewing later, it is finally done. The centerpieces are ready and there is a nice large quilt waiting in the wings to be made. The edging was the task that really took some time today, and it is too bad we will have to remove the edging once the dinner is over in order to make the quilt.
I did run out of blue fabric, which is what I was edging the squares with, so I improvised and used white. I figure white is always good when it comes to a wedding.
So I wanted to post some final shots. I am looking forward to seeing these on the table and ready for use!!

For the rehersal dinner
Here are some pics of the table center peices for the rehersal dinner. I included pictures of both combinations we will have--half and half. And here are some close ups.
Pretty good match up of points if I do say so myself!! :) Let me know what you think.
The full blocks are not sewn together yet, but I just wanted to let you see.

New additions
Their names are Tuck (the orange tabby) and Sheera, princess of power (the calico). Sheera has powers, such as teleportation. Sometimes she teleports under your feet, which is not a great skill.

As you can see, we have to use the quilts to protect the couches from sharp little claws. They love jumping on the couches, but it is not too good for the leather. They are a fun pair, but due to some dog issues have only been living inside. This is against all I have ever sworn to do...cats belong outside in my mind. But now we find ourselves wondering how these two will ever move outside permanatly. We shall see, but we want them to be big enough to defend themselves before they move out.

Truly Hand Made by ME
Well, this is a quilt that I can really say is truly hand made. I pulled it together from leftover scraps from other quilts, made some blocks, did some strip quilting, quilted it by hand, and finished the binding myself.
I have posted on this before so this is just the final update. It doesn't look as good as I would like, but next time I will do better to try to make things straight and neat.
I loved quilting this by hand, although it did wear on my patience a bit. But I love culing up in this quilt. It is very cozy and even better because I really made it.
Well, that is what I have been up to since my last post. I have been up to more, but can't post on that for 2 more months. I also have at least three quilting projects planned, but have not had time to start on them. Soon, soon....maybe this week...
