Scrappy lappy --finished!
Over the snowy weekend I dug out several old projects that needed finished. This was one of them. I love this pattern, with its flannel spacey backing. There is no batting inside of this one. It is a light lap quilt, perfect for summer...maybe for sitting on the porch sipping tea of an evening. I finished the main quilt in the fall, but added the binding this weekend.

I am having trouble seeing the second picture. I love scrappy lappy though.
I am almost finished reading my first volume of the Elm Creek Quilt series of books. The author, Jennifer Chiaverini, must be a quilter of sorts as well as a writer. Her bio says: "In addition to the thirteen volumes of the Elm Creek Quilts series, she is the author of three volumes of quilt patterns inspired by her novels, as well as the designer of the Elm Creek Quilts fabric lines from Red Rooster Fabrics."
The book I read is called The Runaway Quilt. The quilt question it talks about is, "Did stationmasters of the Underground Railroad use quilts to signal to fugitive slaves?" However, it is hard to tell what is fact and what is pure fiction. Still I think you would like some of the quilt talk.
Now I can see the second picture. The material is really fun. Astronauts! And the different star prints are great. Nice combo.
i love your quilts! did i miss it or is there a way to follow your blog? thanks for checking out mine!
Thanks! Glad you like my quilts. It is just a hobby but it keeps me sane!
